Day 1
Irkutsk Alexander III monument


Welcome to Baikal!

 Panoramic city tour…

Arrival in Irkutsk in the morning.

Meeting with the guide. Panoramic city tour by transport and visit of the main places of interest: the Church of St. Savior, The Epiphany Cathedral, local wooden houses, the monument to the Russian Tsar Alexander III which was built on the bank of the Angara River, in honor of the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway. Lunch at the city restaurant.

Departure for the village of Listvyanka to see Lake Baikal (1 hour). On the way to Lake Baikal, you will visit the Taltsy Museum of Wooden Architecture – an open-air museum, built of Taltsy wood. There will be a short stop at the place where the Angara flows out of Lake Baikal.

336 rivers flow into the Baikal Lake and the Angara is the only one that flows out of it. The source of the Angara river never freezes.

Check-in at the mini-hotel (a comfortable room). Free time for dinner and overnight stay in Listvyanka.

Guided tour of Listvyanka by foot. Lunch.

Guided tour of the Lake Baikal Museum with the aquarium of the nerpas (the freshwater seals), and virtual diving into its depths. 

You will take a cable car to Chersky Peak and there you will find a great viewpoint to enjoy Baikal Lake from above and to see the exact place where the Angara River flows out of the lake. It takes 15-20 minutes to get down from the Chersky Peak along the asphalt road.

Transfer to Irkutsk. Free time for dinner and overnight stay in Irkutsk in a three-star hotel.

Day 3
Olkhon Island

Departure to Olkhon Island…

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure to Olkhon Island at 9 a.m., 300 km (4-5 hours, by private minibus).

65 km from Irkutsk, stop at the village of Ust-Orda, the capital of the Buryat Autonomous Okrug within the Irkutsk region. Visit of the Buddhist datsan Tubden Darzhalin and the Ust-Orda National museum. Lunch at the cafe on the way at the clients’ own. (Meal is not included in the program rate).

After lunch, you will take a ferry from the Olkhon Gates and cross the Little Sea which separates the island from the mainland. The journey will take 15 minutes. The main village of the island is located 37 km away from the ferry terminal. 

At the end of the day, check-in at the mini-hotel in the village of Khuzhir (the rooms are very comfortable). Free time for dinner and overnight stay at the mini hotel.

Day 4

Departure for an excursion to the north of the island…

Early-morning breakfast at the inn.

Departure for an excursion to the north of the island in a Russian SUV UAZ (groups from 1 to 5 people will join an other small group; for groups from 6 people a private UAZ will be provided). The road goes through the forest, sand dunes and meadows (the road is very rough). You will make several stops  to see the beaches, the steep ochre cliffs and the mountains on the other side of the Little Sea.

Discovery of Cape Khoboy (the north point of Olkhon) which is 40 km from the village. From the top of Cape Khoboy, you will get a spectacular 360° view that will take your breath away. With a little luck, you will be able to see the lake seals and the nerpas (especially in June).

The next stop will be Love Peak. According to the old legend, in that place, the Buryats used to leave their infertile wives and when they returned for them, usually, their beloved had been already cured by the Spirits.

Return to the mini-hotel. Free time to discover the village of Khuzhir and the famous Bourkhan Rock.

Day 5

Free time for dinner and overnight stay at the mini-hotel of Olkhon Island.

Day 6



Return to Irkutsk…

Breakfast at the mini-hotel.

Return to Irkutsk (5-6 hours by regular minibus).

ATTENTION: in summer (from mid-July to mid-August), sometimes you will probably have to spend from 1 to 3 hours in the traffic jam on the way to the ferry terminal. If you take a transfer to Irkutsk by private car, you will avoid this waiting time. Then you will take the first ferry that will arrive and another car will be waiting for you on the other side to continue your route.

Transfer by private car is an additional service and will be charged extra upon request.

Arrival in Irkutsk. Homestay or check-in at a three-star hotel. Free time for diner.

Day 7



Transfer to the airport….

Breakfast at the hotel or with locals.

Transfer to the airport. Return flight.

Cancellation Policy
  • If the cancellation is made more than 30 days before departure, the fee is 100€ 
  • Between 30 and 20 days before departure, cancellation fee equals 25 % of the total amount of the trip price
  • Between 19 and 13 days, the fee equals 35 %
  • Between 12 and 9 days, the fee equals 60 %
  • If the cancellation is made less than 9 days before departure, the cancellation fee is 100% of the total amount
