Day 1
Karakol Valley Altai

 

Welcome to Altai!

Arrive at Barnaul airport early in the morning…

Arrive at Barnaul airport early in the morning (if necessary, it is possible to meet at Gorno-Altaisk or Novosibirsk airport). Meet your guide and your driver. Breakfast in a café, then guided tour of the German Titov Space Museum.

Transfer to the borders of the Republic of Altai. Your first step will be the discovery of the local cuisine in a traditional accommodation. You fully taste the hospitality of the Atlai people as well as local dishes.

You then reach the Seminsky pass (1717m) and walk through the local market. You are in the Karakol Valley, one of the most mysterious places in the region with its 5 centuries of shamanism.

Installation in a gîte. Free time. Dinner and overnight at the cottage.

Day 2
Chuya Path Altai

 

Uch-Enmek – Chuya Path

You set off to explore the Karakol Valley…

Breakfast at the cottage.

You set off to explore the Karakol Valley and the Outch-Enmek Natural Park: It is a high place in Altai culture, where many shamanic rites and sacrifices took place over the centuries. You admire the Mount d’Outch-Enmek, one of the energy centers of the region. Lunch in a cafe.

You continue your journey in the Tchuya region: You enjoy many picturesque views, especially at the passage of the Tchike-Taman pass, visit ancient Turkish monuments, and learn more about the petroglyphs of Kalbak-Tache, which have more 5,000 years old.

Installation in a gîte. Dinner and overnight at the cottage.

Day 3
Pazyryk Altai

 

Pazyryk – Katu-Yaryk

reach the graves of the Pazyryk culture…

Breakfast at the guesthouse.

You take the road again in the morning to reach the graves of the Pazyryk culture: according to legend, only the elect could go to this sacred valley where warriors and shamans were buried. Lunch on the road.

You then visit the observation platform on the Katou-Yaryk pass. On the edge of a kilometer deep precipice, you can admire the emerald river flowing below, and the impressive surrounding landscapes.

Installation in a tourist base. Diner and night at the place.

Day 4
Koche-Agatch Altai

 

Koche-Agatch – Geyser Lake

You go to the conquest of the North of Tchuya

Breakfast at the camp.

You go to the conquest of the North of Tchuya, only 560m at the foot of the main mountain of Altai, Mount Beloukha: You get to know the culture of the nomadic peoples of the valley and admire the landscapes reminiscent of Mongolia. Lunch on the road.

You then join a region unique in its kind in the region, nicknamed the “Mars of the Altai”: You visit the picturesque village of Koche-Agatch as well as Lake Geyser.

Installation at the hostel. Dinner and overnight at the inn.

Day 5
Chemal Valley Altai

 

Chemal Valley

You leave the Oulagan region…

Breakfast at the guesthouse.

You leave the Oulagan region to reach the Tchemal Valley: On the way, you make a few stops to admire the landscapes and panoramas. Lunch in a cafe in Tchemal.

You visit the picturesque monastery on the island of Patmos, in the middle of a mountain river, then the Tchemal hydroelectric power station. Here, the Tchuya and Katoun rivers have an impressive turquoise blue color.

Installation at the hostel. Dinner and overnight at the inn.

Day 6
Katun Altai

 

Katoun – Askat

Rafting excursion on the turquoise waters of the Katoun…

Breakfast at the guesthouse.

Rafting excursion on the turquoise waters of the Katoun: you are accompanied by a certified instructor. The difficulty of the course may vary. Lunch in a cafe.

You then reach the artisan village of Askat: You take a short hike to Mount Menjelik, visit different art galleries and get to know the work of local masters. You will discover in particular the sound therapy of Tibetan bowls and traditional Altai instruments.

Dinner and overnight at the guesthouse.

Day 7
Chemal Region Altai

 

Chemal – Barnaul

visit the best apiaries in the Chemal region…

Breakfast at the guesthouse.

In the morning, you visit the best apiaries in the Tchemal region: You discover the different honeys of Altai and their manufacturing process, and you walk in a souvenir market with many traditional objects. Lunch in the Biisk region.

In the afternoon, transfer to Barnaul (4h). Installation at the hotel.

Farewell dinner in a restaurant, and overnight at the hotel.

Day 8

Cancellation Policy
  • If the cancellation is made more than 30 days before departure, the fee is 100€ 
  • Between 30 and 20 days before departure, cancellation fee equals 25 % of the total amount of the trip price
  • Between 19 and 13 days, the fee equals 35 %
  • Between 12 and 9 days, the fee equals 60 %
  • If the cancellation is made less than 9 days before departure, the cancellation fee is 100% of the total amount
