The Trans-Siberian is a mythical journey through Russia, Mongolia and China. Thanks to the Golden Tsars train, you will taste the magic of the circuit while enjoying a high level of comfort. Day 1

Your guide welcomes you at the airport

Arrival in Moscow. Your guide welcomes you at the airport and escorts you to the hotel.
A welcome dinner awaits you, during which your guides will be introduced to you.

After the meal you go for a night city tour, you contemplate one of the largest European capitals, imposing and active until the dead of night.
You then discover two of the most beautiful stations of the Moscow metro.

Moscow City Tour

Discovery of the main sites of the city…

Discovery of the main sites of the city including the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and visit of the Kremlin.
You enter what is called the “territory” of the Kremlin, the seat of power in Russia for centuries and visit some of the sumptuous cathedrals it houses.
After lunch you will pass by the Novodevichy Convent, one of the most beautiful monastic complexes in Russia. The day will end with a view of Moscow from Vorobievy Gori.

Kazan-Mosque

In the morning you reach Kazan…

In the morning you reach Kazan, the capital of the Tatars.
Guided tour of its Kremlin, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It houses many testimonies of the turbulent history of relations between Tatars, Cossacks and Russians and also offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Volga.
Continuation of the Trans-Siberian journey in the evening.

Day 4
Yekaterinburg

 

Ekatrinburg

After crossing the Ural Mountains…

After crossing the Ural Mountains, you arrive in the morning at the historic capital Yekaterinburg which was founded in 1723 by Peter the Great. The history of the city is closely linked to that of the family of the last Tsar who was assassinated there in 1918.

From the station you go to the border between Europe and Asia. The exceptional geographical situation will allow you to leave one foot in Europe and pass the other foot towards Asia where you will advance in the coming days.

Visit of the city, whose historic center was renovated in 2009, and of the Cathedral of the Redemption which commemorates the murder of the family of Nicolas II.
Then the journey continues through the steppes of western Siberia.

Day 5
Novosibirsk

 

Novosibirsk

On this fifth day, you reach Novosibirsk

On this fifth day, you reach Novosibirsk, the heart of Siberia, where you will be greeted according to tradition, following the ceremony of bread and salt.
During the city tour you will discover this typically Soviet city bordered by the Ob, and in particular its Trans-Siberian memorial as well as the Ob.
Departure of the train in the evening. Your cooks on board offer you their specialty “La table des Tsars”. Overnight in the Trans-Siberian.

Krasnoyarsk

In the morning you cross Krasnoyarsk…

In the morning you cross Krasnoyarsk and its imposing river Yenisei.
In the train, where you start to take your marks, the activities are organized. You advance through birch forests, pass through small idyllic villages and impressive mountainous landscapes.

Irkutsk

In the morning you travel to Irkutsk

In the morning you travel to Irkutsk, capital of Eastern Siberia. On a city tour, you can admire, among other things, the monument recently dedicated to the Tsars, where the Obelisk of the Trans-Siberian once stood. You appreciate the many traditional dachas, carved wooden houses.
After lunch, check in at the hotel and free time to do some shopping before leaving Russia.

In the evening you dine with the locals who will offer you local specialties in a typical Russian atmosphere.

Day 8

Baikal Lake

After breakfast, you go on an excursion to the Taltsy…

After breakfast, you go on an excursion to the Taltsy open-air museum called “living and working in ancient Siberia”.
Then you reach by bus the small village of Listvyanka on the shores of Lake Baikal, the largest freshwater reservoir in the world. From there, you take a boat to Port Baikal, on the other side of the lake, where your train, the Gold of the Tsars is already waiting for you.
To allow you to appreciate this impressive place, the Gold of the Tsars will follow at low speed, for two hours, the old route of the Trans-Siberian which runs alongside the lake and which is now prohibited for regular Trans-Siberians.
The train stops for a few hours at Vanino, a particularly bucolic place on the shore to let you savor the majesty of the lake
If the weather allows it, you can take advantage of this stopover for a picnic with skewers on the shore.

Ulan-Ude

The train departs at dawn, bypassing Lake Baikal

The train departs at dawn, bypassing Lake Baikal passing through the Selenga Valley before reaching the city of Ulan-Ude.
A city tour allows you to discover the capital of Buryatia. The folk concert at the Ulan-Ude Theater will present the cultural difference of Russia.
Then the journey continues, through a hilly landscape to the Mongolian border. (Customs formalities will be done comfortably on board the train).

Ulan Bator

 

Ulan-Bator

In the morning you arrive in Ulan Bator…

In the morning you arrive in Ulan Bator, capital of Mongolia. You can leave your main luggage in your compartment.
On the city tour, you see major landmarks such as the imposing Gandan Monastery and the Choijin Lama Temple.
If you wish, you can attend a Mongolian folklore show.

In the evening your guide will accompany you to a famous little restaurant.

Mongolian Steppe

 

Mongolian Steppe

Excursion in the Mongolian steppe to Terelj

Departure by bus for a day excursion in the Mongolian steppe to Terelj Park to admire this fascinating nature located in the east of Ulaanbaatar.
You meet the nomadic family who migrate in the steppe accompanied by their herds of yaks and horses who present their way of life and their dwellings to you.

Lunch in this wonderful landscape. After a short walk in the steppe, you attend mini-Nadaam – show with archery, horse riding and wrestling which will be organized especially for you.
Then return to the train and continue the journey to China.

Day 12
Gobi desert

 

Gobi Desert

In the morning, you enter the Gobi Desert…

In the morning, you enter the Gobi Desert, a desert of stone and rock where a stop is planned.
Around noon, you reach the Chinese border where your special Chinese train awaits you.

Indeed, due to the different width of the tracks, our train “Gold of the Tsars” cannot continue its journey.
The Chinese train that takes over from Erlian takes around 16 hours to reach Beijing.
It is a regular train which does not have the Nostalgia-Comfort category nor the Bolshoï or Bolshoi Platinum category, and it only offers compartments with 4 or 2 beds.
The individual use of the compartments cannot be guaranteed.

As you travel through northern China…

As you travel through northern China, you get a glimpse of rural Chinese life. You reach Beijing before noon and reach your hotel. Free dinner.

During a four-hour city tour, you will discover…

During a four-hour city tour, you will discover, among other things, the Temple of Heaven as well as the Place de la Paix Céleste as well as contemporary architectural monuments.
In the afternoon you visit the Forbidden City, former palace of the Emperor of China and visit its famous halls and mysterious temples. Free dinner. Night at the hotel

The Great Wall of China

 

The Great Wall of China

you visit the eighth wonder of the world…

During a day trip, you visit the eighth wonder of the world: the Great Wall of China (part of the climb is done on foot). Over 6,000 km long, it is the longest human construction in the world.
On the way, you visit a pearl farm as well as the tombs of the Ming emperors with the famous animal alley, UNESCO World Heritage sites.
In the evening, farewell dinner around a Peking duck at a renowned restaurant in the city. Night at the hotel.

  • If the cancellation is made more than 30 days before departure, the fee is 100€ 
  • Between 30 and 20 days before departure, cancellation fee equals 25 % of the total amount of the trip price
  • Between 19 and 13 days, the fee equals 35 %
  • Between 12 and 9 days, the fee equals 60 %
  • If the cancellation is made less than 9 days before departure, the cancellation fee is 100% of the total amount
